Over Halloween weekend, some users of Grok Bot, SpaceX's AI agent, found their weekly usage limits exhausted even if they had not used it overnight. Users reported on X that their usage jumped from 50% to 100%, TechCrunch reports.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk confirmed on Sunday, in reply to a user's question on X, that this was not a glitch: "The cost of serving Grok Bot was unsustainably high relative to revenue." He has not yet said how usage limits will work from now on.

SpaceX, which recently went public, said in a filing last month that AI makes up 52% of company income, and its AI division, "Super Intelligence", turned a profit of $431 million. According to the report, the profit would have been higher without $1.2 billion in one-time costs related to the acquisition of Cursor.
