Google DeepMind unveils Genie 4, a real-time world model with native audio and talking characters

Google DeepMind announced Genie 4 on Tuesday, a world model that generates interactive simulations in real time with audio, physics and dialogue. It is available now as a research preview for trusted testers, and will later come to Google AI Ultra subscribers and early access partners in the Gemini API and Google AI Studio.

Bedrock Robotics raises $600 million at a $4.1 billion valuation for autonomous excavators

San Francisco-based Bedrock Robotics, which retrofits existing excavators into fully autonomous machines, announced on Monday a $600 million Series C co-led by CapitalG and Emergence Capital at a $4.1 billion valuation. The company's total funding now approaches $1 billion, two years after it came out of stealth.

Intel gets a waiver from the US ban on foreign-made robots to keep its chip fabs running

The FCC allowed Intel to keep using foreign-made robotic vehicles in its US chip fabs for one year. Intel filed the request "out of an abundance of caution", since it was unclear whether the new ban applied to its equipment at all.

NVIDIA expands the Isaac platform: new reference humanoid, datasets and simulation tools

At GTC Berlin, NVIDIA announced an expansion of its open Isaac robotics platform, including the Agile ONE SN reference humanoid from Agile Robots, a simulation asset library on Hugging Face, and integration of its Halos safety system by robot makers.
