Tencent launched Hy4, its new large language model, on November 4. According to TechNode, the 770-billion-parameter model adds visual understanding for the first time: it interprets charts and documents and reasons across multiple images. It also operates command-line tools and graphical interfaces, and Tencent trained it specifically on applications such as Blender and CAD software and on tasks that span several programs.
Hy4 is available across Tencent's products and on third-party platforms including OpenRouter. Tencent said it will release the model's weights and a system card shortly. API pricing is unchanged from the preview: $0.834 per million input tokens and $2.501 per million output tokens, with a 50% discount on Tencent Cloud TokenHub until December 31. A cheaper Hy4 flash model is planned.
According to the South China Morning Post, Tencent is aiming the model at open-weight rivals from DeepSeek, Z.ai and Alibaba, and building it as the base for its enterprise software. The company has already integrated it into WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy, with a limited free quota until November 15, and said development focused on office work, financial analysis and game development.
