Apple said on Tuesday that developers can now integrate Siri AI's new features in "all apps." The voice assistant will be able to draw on a user's personal context, process natural-language requests and use on-screen awareness to carry out actions inside third-party apps. The change is part of iOS 27.3, rolling out as a Developer Preview. Until now, outside developers had access to only a small set of the features.
The update also adds "app skills": developers can build a single action that combines several tasks. According to Apple's documentation, users won't need to say the app's name while it is in the foreground, during a Live Activity or in a conversation with Siri AI about it. Apple's example: booking a ride, following it in a Live Activity, and changing the pickup address with one spoken request.
The expanded features also come to Apple's own apps, including Calendar, Files, Finder, Mail, Maps, Messages, Music, Notes, Photos, Reminders, Safari and Shortcuts. Apple says users could, for example, find a coffee shop they visited last week or archive files that haven't been opened in over a year. Apple has not said when the features will reach all users.
